Dreamscapes


Step into the fantastical with our May Member's Exhibit, Dreamscapes. This lighthearted showcase invites you to explore the power of imagination through the eyes of local artists. Featuring nearly 40 pieces of visual wall art—including stunning paintings, vibrant digital art, and evocative photography—each work serves as a window into dreamlike worlds inspired by myths, fantasies, and boundless creativity. Join us as we celebrate imagination in all its vivid forms!

We are now seeking proposals from artists and creators who are interested in leading workshops and classes that will enhance our growing arts community. We welcome all types of artistic mediums and are open to a broad range of creative practices. Our goal is to provide a space that offers artistic learning opportunities for a diverse audience, regardless of age or skill level.

Workshop/Class Opportunities:
We are looking to offer a variety of artistic workshops, classes, and interactive art opportunities that engage the community in creative expression. Workshops and classes can be one-time events, a series of sessions, or recurring on a weekly or monthly basis. Proposals can include, but are not limited to, visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.), literary arts (creative writing, poetry, storytelling, etc.), or interdisciplinary art forms. Workshops can be geared toward any age group, from children to adults, and can be designed to accommodate a range of abilities and experience levels.

Proposal Guidelines:
Interested artists should submit a proposal that includes the following information:
1. Artist Bio/Statement: A brief description of yourself or your collective, including background, artistic practice, and relevant experience in teaching or leading workshops, if any.
2. Workshop/Class Description: A detailed description of the proposed workshop/class, including:
o Theme/medium/topic
o Intended audience (e.g., children, teens, adults, seniors, families, or mixed age groups)
o Proposed duration (e.g., one-time event, series of sessions, length of each session)
o Learning objectives and outcomes
o Materials required (please indicate if the gallery or artist/creator will provide materials or if participants will need to supply their own)
3. Proposed Schedule and Dates: Please provide your preferred schedule, including days and times, as well as any time frames in which you would like to hold your workshop.
4. Expected Budget: A budget breakdown for your workshop, which should include:
o Supplies/materials costs
o Compensation for the instructor (and any assistants, if applicable), include reciprocal split with TSG
o Any other related expenses
5. Past Work Samples: Please include examples of your past workshops or classes (if applicable), as well as any relevant artwork or creative projects.

Submission Process:
Submissions will be accepted on a rolling basis, and we will review proposals as they are received. We encourage early submissions, as they will be considered for upcoming programming. Applicants will be notified of the status of their proposal within 3-4 weeks of submission.

Review Process:
Proposals will be reviewed by the Trescott Street Gallery Management, the Board of Directors, and the Advisory Group. This team will evaluate proposals based on artistic merit, feasibility, and alignment with the gallery’s mission to serve the community with diverse and inclusive programming.

Selection Criteria:
Proposals will be reviewed based on:
• Artistic merit and creativity
• Relevance to the community and potential to engage a broad audience
• Clarity and feasibility of the proposed workshop/class structure
• Experience and qualifications of the artist or instructor (inexperience will not disqualify proposals)
• Ability to accommodate a variety of participants, including different age groups and skill levels
• Consideration of the proposed budget and its alignment with the gallery's resources

Additional Information:
• Trescott Street Gallery will provide the necessary space and support for each workshop or class, including access to basic gallery materials, equipment, and any necessary setup/cleanup assistance.
• The gallery will also promote the workshops/classes through its marketing channels, including social media, email newsletters, and community outreach.
• We are happy to work with selected artists to ensure the success of their workshop and to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants.

​Introduction to Trescott Street Gallery:

Trescott Street Gallery has been a cornerstone of the Taunton community since 2011, providing a welcoming space for artistic expression, collaboration, and engagement. For over a decade, the gallery has showcased local and regional artists through monthly exhibits that highlight the diverse range of artistic talent in our area.
The Gallery is owned and operated by the Downtown Taunton Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the vitality of downtown Taunton through arts, culture, and community engagement. The Gallery shares its staff with the Foundation, and together, we are committed to creating a vibrant and accessible space for creativity and connection.

Recently under new management, Trescott Street Gallery is entering an exciting new chapter. As we develop our Strategic Plan and re-imagine the space, our vision is to transform the gallery into a dynamic community arts hub. We aim to offer a variety of educational and creative programming while continuing to foster a supportive environment for both established and emerging artists.
